FAQ

Q: Which way is faster? Thru P/G or a dealership? Is your Dealership program in place yet? For Florida?

We do have a dealer in Florida. But I don't believe that will affect the speed in which we get the car.

Q: When I wear out the tires, do they have to replaced with identical? Or as long as they are the same size, speed rating, that's OK?

Yes, you can change tire sizes. However, there are only one or two sizes that look good on the car. We have chosen a tire size that provides the visual stance we wanted without creating tire clearance issues. Should the tire size be changed you can use the Diablo tuner to recalibrate the speedometer.

Q: Supposed to use a special tire machine for the P/G wheels?

Not really a special tire machine as all 20 inch tires and wheels require updated equipment. But nothing that cannot be found at any typical tire shop.

Q: Special tire balancing?

No special tire balancing required.

Q: Special alignment?

No special alignment tools required. We include bumpsteer correction bushings in the rack to maintain steering arm angle due to the decreased static ride height. This just keeps the car from being "darty" over surface imperfections. Our cars do have a performance alignment and we can provide these parameters as necessary.

Q: Sorry for all the questions! If I make this purchase, either Car will be more than my House originally cost! Just trying to be as educated as possible. I have read that these Car's are pretty much get in and drive and as long as the preventive maintenance

You are correct in that these cars are pretty much bullet proof with simple maintenance procedures that you perform on any street car. Plus with our Magnuson supercharger being a sealed unit, you don't have to worry about supercharger service as you would with other units. Anytime you put a car on the racetrack it is experiencing abuse which could lead to failures, but with limited use the track should not harm these cars.

Q: Since I'm in FL, is there sales tax, gas guzzler tax?

There will only be NC sales tax if you take delivery of the car here in NC. There is no gas guzzler tax imposed on the Challenger R/T.

Q: Is there a "printed" form, for the P/G order sheet? R/T order sheet? So I can check off item's wanted?

There is a printed form for our performance package. As for the Challenger, we would have to talk through what you want to spend/accomplish and determine if you need to start with a 27F, 27J or 27M code car. The F code cars is the least expensive with almost no takeoff waste. The M code car comes with more frills, but with extensive takeoff waste. Basically the F code is a $33K car and the M code is a $41K car.

Q: Is the Diablo Predator a hand held, plug in? For tuning for bad gas, going to the track or tuning for better mileage?

Yes, the Diablo Predator is a hand held plug in tuner for the car. It is mostly used for simple tuning parameters, but can also data record when necessary. The RPSS will come with a custom tune that maximizes performance and drivability which is specific for the supercharger application and cannot be used in any other application.

Q: Is the Arrington 5.7 with the forged crank, safe for the Supercharger & Nitrous? Noticed 200HP Kit!

The addition of Nitrous to our engines will void the limited warranty provided by Arrington.

Q: If the Supercharger goes out, can the engine still run and the Car be driven?

Should the supercharger bearing have a catastrophic failure, the car cannot be driven as it would lock up the belt system for the car.

Q: If I stay with the HP Throttle Body, is the HP & Torque rating the same?

We use the OEM throttle body.

Q: If I put $5K down, and a new R/T was already in stock at P/G, how soon would delivery be?

Based on when the base car is delivered and our production schedule at the time of delivery, the car will be completed between 15-30 working days.

Q: If I get home and a "warranty" issue comes up, would the Supercharger cause me issue's with Factory Warranty?

The moment a supercharger is added to a vehicle under factory warranty the OEM drivetrain warranty is voided. However, this would also be the case due to the extensive engine work we do to ensure the engine is capable of easily withstanding the increased horsepower. This is why we go the extra mile to introduce forged components to the 5.7L HEMI.

Q: If I buy and get home and break down, how is that handled?

Our warranty requires that the car be returned to us for warranty work.

Q: If I buy a Challenger, head home day of delivery and something breaks down, how is that handled. (Family w me).

The car has a 90 day workmanship warranty. Which in essence if a failure happens do to the workmanship or installation of a part we fix it. However, we test drive each and every car and do not expect any issues with any car we build.

Q: I have heard that the Supercharger should not be covered (shaker). Too much heat build up ad some S/C companies will void warranties. What do you know about this?

We went with Magnuson for the Supercharger because it is manufactured by Eaton and is the same basic unit used on OEM models by Ford and Chevrolet with much success. Yes, superchargers do create heat but to date we have not had any issues with our units. Also, some supercharger units create a significant increase in intake air temperature over what we see from the Magnuson units. Mostly due to the air to water intercooler and internal radiator found in the intake manifold of the Magnuson. Magna Charger's new MP2300 TVS supercharger uses the same advanced technology found in the new LS9 Corvette and '09 Cadillac CTS-V. It's four-lobe, high helix design is more efficient requiring less power to drive, has cooler discharge temperatures for increased power, and is much quieter than previous models. The major components include a high-velocity port intake manifold with integral water-to-air intercooler and of course, the MP2300 TVS supercharger. The increased discharge temperatures found in other units are the reason some of our competitors are using methanol injections to create more horsepower as it decreases discharge temperatures. This is a great practice for racetrack use as you can constantly check the methanol reservoir, but it's not very practical for extended street use.

Q: I assume the chassis, electronics, interior, etc., would be handled by the local dealership?

Yes, that is correct. The "bumper to bumper" portion of the warranty will remain intact which covers those components.

Q: Down the road, do I need to always use Brembo products?

No, there are other companies that offer brake pads that will fit the Brembo caliper

Q: Do you have the R/T's in stock now? Waiting for a buyer or in process of being completed now?

We do have a couple of dealer cars here. But there might be a premium put on the car due to immediate availability vs. ordering and waiting.

Q: Do you have any idea which way would be cheaper? Can P/G get a better price than I can on the base Car? (I won't quibble over the P/G item's / option's)

We can work it both ways. Let you work with a local dealer and put you in contact with one of our guys and see which one will give you the best deal. I don't believe we can say for certain which is the least expensive route.

Q: Do you all supply the Challenger, or do I get one and deliver / bring it to you?

We can help you source the Challenger or you can purchase your car and deliver it to our shop. Either way, you will end up working directly with a dealer on the base car purchase.

Q: Do instructions come for the Supercharger? Maintenance, oil, etc?

The Magnuson unit is a sealed supercharger unit and therefore does not required additional lubricant service.

Q: Do any instructions come for engine, trans, etc?

No specific instructions for the engine or transmission as they maintain the factory service intervals.

Q: Can you get the NAV system on the R/T?

Yes, you can get NAV and satellite on the R/T.

Q: Can maintenance parts be purchased at a decent discount, direct from P/G?

We don't typically sell general maintenance items such as lubricants and filters since they are OEM style items that can be purchased at your local auto parts store.

Q: At the "Meet & Greet" with the King, would he sign the driver's side roof with a paint pen?

You know RP. He will sign it anywhere you want it signed. He does however sign the tachometer gauge face in each car.

Q: Are there full P/G documentation paper's when I pick the Car up?

Yes, you will have the sales contract for the performance package that identifies the RPSS production number. Each vehicle also has a unique under hood I.D. tag that identifies the cars VIN, production date, PG Serial # and RPSS#. We also include each car in the Petty's Garage production registry.
